Pre- Production

Talent Release Forms

Location Planning

Location 1------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The First Location is my house. My advertisement will be entirely set inside a house so this location would be the best place to film. Being my house it will be a easily accessible location to use and will be available as long as my talent is available to use. My location wont require any travel time since I live there unless I don't posses a camera which I would have to acquire from collage during lesson times. This location will be available most of the time since I live here, on the other hand it would be more difficult if I was to use someone else's house since I would have to plan around the availability of their home.

Location 2 (considering)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The second location that I will be taking into consideration is one of my friends house. This location
is an acceptable location for my advertisement since it's entirely set inside the house instead of many other locations. Since I know the owner of this house there will be no extra cost for using this shooting location saving my money. Having my shooting location inside a house makes it easier for my talent and me to have access to basic facilities like food, water, toilet facilities and leisure areas when we are having a break.

Some of the disadvantage of shooting in these locations is a possible lack of light and having control of it. since we are shooting in an enclose location it will be  more difficult to control things such as lighting since there is a lack of special equipment due to my low budget. In these shooting locations there will be a problem of a lack of room to move around. It might be difficult to position the camera around the house for the shots I want to go for as well as room for my actor to move freely.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULE & CALL SHEET

CAP Ruling

This CAP ruling applies to all types of advertisements on TV as well as sponsorships on radios and Television services. Being in place to inform advertisers and broadcasters on the standards and expectations of the content and scheduling of broadcast advertisements to protect consumers. All Broadcasters must be familiar with the contents of the code as well as the consumer protection legislation. All advertisement companies must comply with these codes to make sure that all content being streamed to the public is safe, non-misleading and suitable to watch.

2.1
Advertisements must be obviously distinguishable from editorial content, especially if they use a situation, performance or style reminiscent of editorial content, to prevent the audience being confused between the two. The audience should quickly recognise the message as an advertisement.

In my advertisement I will be using various editorial techniques which could possibly confuse the audience for example, time laps and sped up footage. Bearing in mind with the idea of my advertisement being about gaining energy and power from the chocolate bar, the message should be clear leading audience to understanding the purpose and the message of the advert.
3.1
Advertisements must not materially mislead or be likely to do so.

As a main part of my advertisement being about how you can gain energy from the boost chocolate bar, it will be mainly focused around that idea of gaining power and energy. The theme of gaining ‘super powers’ when consuming the chocolate bar should be clear to the audience, that the idea of exaggeration used in a humours way should let audience to understand that these powers are not real or existent when consuming the chocolate bar and there for not being misleading to the viewers.

3.12
Advertisements must not mislead by exaggerating the capability or performance of a product or service.

Similar to (3.1) the idea of exaggerating the capability of my product will be present in my advertisement but to the extent where it is humours and entertaining. Not allowing audience to think that they can gain these super human powers because it is exaggerated to the point where it is silly and entertaining. This leading the audiences to not be misled by the performance of this product in a way which wouldn’t be harming them in any way.

4.6
Television only – Advertisements must not include visual effects or techniques that are likely to affect adversely members of the audience with photosensitive epilepsy.

In my advertisement I will be using some special effects with include repetitive imagery that in theory could affect audiences with some form of epilepsy. When editing my advertisement I will be looking though Ofcom's Guidance Note for Licensees on Flashing Images and Regular Patterns in Television to make sure that this won’t occur in my advertisement.

13.2
Advertisements must avoid anything likely to condone or encourage poor nutritional habits or an unhealthy lifestyle, especially in children.

For My advertisement I will be advertising a Cadburys Boost bar which isn’t a practically healthy nutritional snack for my targeted audience demographic, ill be aiming to hence the idea that you don’t need to eat much of the chocolate bar to fill you up. My actor will only take one small bite from the chocolate bar promoting the idea that chocolate bars shouldn’t be eaten in successive amount’s.
